May Days

It is so enriching to remember the joy, whether small or grand! Here are a few fun & blessed May memories:
Our grandest memory for May was a choice visit from Opa Mills!
We enjoyed a family hike along the C&O Canal
Megan loved being Riley's running buddy for the Girls On the Run 5k!
Jacob had his turn to dress up for his 8th Grade Formal

Prom Rerun?

Can you attend too many Proms in one season? Apparently not. Two church Proms and then a school Prom for the most mileage possible out of expensive formalwear!! These pictures were taken on May 16 prior to the high school Prom. Thank you to our dear friend Claire who acted as Megan's hair and makeup artist for the special event!

Another Grand Evening!

Another MoPro, a bit closer to home! I love that these youth get to dress up and enjoy a fun formal event in a perfectly comfortable environment. We hosted the pre-prom dinner and photo shoot.

March Snow

Who would believe a March snowstorm in Maryland? Well, it happened. And the "Spring" Track meet went on!

Among life's greatest inventions are teenagers with snow shovels!

Our Distinguished Young Woman

Can you say BIG deal? The Distinguished Young Women Program gives exemplary young ladies a chance to learn worthwhile life skills, gain confidence, and earn scholarships. Once accepted into he program, the girls participate in an interview, fitness routine, talent demonstration and self expression exercise. A lot of hard work is involved in preparing for the event, and it was a great experience.

Megan's grandma and aunt travelled to be with her on her big night :-)

Hello Virginia MoPro!

Road trip! The highlight of our month was visiting dear friends in Yorktown Virginia where Megan attended their MoPro. It was a whirlwind trip with a snow storm chasing us back on our way home, but the fabulous memories were worth the sleep deprivation!

(Megan and I had a good laugh when, after curling her hair to perfections, I mistook shaving cream for hairspray. Oh, the hazards of having a sight-challenged mom!)
